Designer – Motive

Role

As a designer you will be tasked with concepting and designing a broad range of creative products that Motive produces as part of our integrated campaigns as well as guiding and mentoring junior designers on the team. From stage designs for concerts and branding at local, grassroots events, to licensed goods, advertising campaigns and packaging you will be challenged to bring brands to life in a way that is compelling and interesting.

You will work in tight collaboration with CDs and ACDs as well as cross-functional team members from account, experiential, creative and production

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with your fellow creative and account teams to ideate and develop design direction and concepts for a variety of projects and accounts.
  • Hands-on design including gear, vehicle wraps, packaging, event activations and much, much more.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for projects as needed.
  • Present ideas and discuss progress with the Creative Directors and Account Teams.
  • Create, foster and constantly improve client relationships and communications in an amicable, professional manner.
  • Take charge of various projects and see them through from start to finish, including management of junior team members and freelancers.
  • Take established design and run with it. (Yes, sometimes that means production.)
  • Stay inspired, continue to grow your craft and push those around you to do the same.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of three  years agency and design experience.
  • Must be proficient with the entire Creative Suite, have a full understanding of layout, print and editorial design, and be a master of typography. Illustration capabilities a big bonus!
  •  Online portfolio of work (we want to see a website, not PDF files or Word documents).
  • A knack for presenting work to clients—which includes the ability to describe, sell and defend visual concepts.
  • The willingness to be comfortable in the uncomfortable, taking on new territory and achieving an always-up-to-date mastery of emerging design technologies.
  • Ability to multitask projects within deadlines, as well as manage projects from start to finish.
  • A passion for collaborative work with clients, designers and an account management.
  • A solid understanding of how design evolves when applied to different mediums.
